We provide a newly rebuilt, seven-foot 1928 Steinway B concert grand piano with Renner action — a stunning instrument that must be played to be appreciated, and the best piano in any studio within 100 miles. For each instrument and voice, we adhere to the highest standards of clarity and transparency at every stage of the process, including DPA microphones (formerly B&K), Millennia pre-amps and Apogee converters. Recordings can be captured at 24-bit, 96kHz resolution — far higher than necessary for CD audio, but an excellent choice for creating a surround-sound mix for DVD-Audio, or archiving for later use. Jazz musicians will also appreciate our five-piece Yamaha Studio Custom set, which makes even the most demanding drummers leave their own kits at home. We also offer two complete sets of quality cymbals and snares, and we surround the drums with an exceptional selection of carefully chosen premium microphones. And while guitarists and bassists will usually bring their own axes, we do have a great collection of guitars, amps, cabinets and effects for clients to utilize. As important as the equipment, our rooms are notable for their comfortable and “non-sterile” atmosphere, which allows musicians to relax and focus on their performance.
